What is Project Kindness?
When we think about “kindness”, we imagine something very different from expectations of “being nice” that we have experienced in our religious, family and work environments.
Kindness involves setting the intention to be true to ourselves and to those with whom we come in contact. Kindness is the choice to remain curious about those around us who are different from us - in the way they look, speak, dress, believe, vote. Kindness invites us to ask questions, instead of jumping to conclusions.
Kindness involves choices about how we act in four primary areas:
1. In Public Spaces
2. At Work or School
3. Between Friends or Family Members
4. Towards Ourselves
All of the activities and services we provide with Project Kindness will tie back to one of these four areas.
